Before Rick and Morty, There Was Mister Sprinkles.

Unless you've been living in a cave, you've probably seen or at least heard of Rick and Morty on Adult Swim. It's a parody of the Back to the Future franchise and one of the best new animated shows to come out in the last 5 years, (besides Gravity Falls). Before this grandpa/grandson duo though, there was Mister Sprinkles.

Just like Rick and Morty, Mister Sprinkles was also a parody created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, but borrowing from the classic Cat in the Hat character. The show played on VH1's Acceptable TV and was the only animated part of the viewer-chosen show.

Set in a world where imagination exists alongside our reality, Mister Sprinkles finds that kids just don't respond to him the same as they used to when bursting into their homes unannounced.

The entire series is comprised of short episodes. You can watch the whole story unfold below. You may notice story parallels with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, even though Mister Sprinkles pre-dates The Dark Knight Rises by 5 years...hmm.
